The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1938 was the 39th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 17th, 1938.

The race ran from Argenteuil to Roubaix , where it ended on Avenue Gustave Delory (previously Avenue les Villas ). The route was 255 kilometers long. 171 drivers started, 59 of whom were able to place. The winner Lucien Storme completed the race at an average speed of 30.99 km / h .

During the race it was very cold and there was a strong wind from the north. A leading group of 15 riders had formed 17 kilometers from Roubaix. Louis Hardiquest ran away , but 21-year-old Lucien Storme stayed on his rear wheel. Nine kilometers later, Storme had a tire problem, but was quickly back on track and caught up with Hardiquest again.
