The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1999 was the 97th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 11, 1999.

The race led from Compiègne , around 80 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 273 kilometers long. 183 drivers started, 66 of whom were able to place. The winner Andrea Tafi completed the race at an average speed of 40.519  km / h .

29 kilometers from the finish, Andrea Tafi broke out of a leading group of seven. Next to him were two other drivers - Wilfried Peeters and Tom Steels - from Mapei on the podium. His win at Paris – Roubaix was the Mapei team's fourth in five years, and it was also the third time in four years that Mapei took the top three places in the classic.
