Aloïs Catteau

Aloïs Catteau (born August 11, 1877 in Tourcoing , † November 2, 1939 in Menen ) was a Belgian cyclist .

He began his professional career in 1903 with the start of the Tour de France in the La Française team . He already reached seventh place on the first stage. It was his best single placement on the tour. In the end, he finished 10th overall. The following year he finished third at the end of the Tour de France . In 1905 he founded his own cycling team Catteau Cycles and started with it again in the Tour de France . In the end, he finished 11th. The following year he drove for the Alcyon-Dunlop team and finished 6th overall on the Tour. He came third in the Paris Tourcoing tour . In 1907 he started as a single driver without a team and reached ninth place in the overall ranking of the Tour de France 1907 . In 1908 he was again in the service of Alcyon-Dunlop and started one last time in the Tour de France . In the end, however, he only finished 21st overall. Then he started only in smaller road races before he ended his professional career in 1911 after another unsuccessful attempt to drive in the Tour de France.
