The 1908 Tour de France lasted from July 13th to August 9th and took place on the same route as the year before. The points system for determining the winner was also still used.

Race course

36 of 114 drivers who started reached the finish in Paris. Some riders used removable bicycle tubes for the first time . Last year's winner Lucien Petit-Breton was considered the favorite for the overall victory. He lived up to expectations and became the first rider to win the Tour de France for the second time . Petit-Breton was one of the best mechanics in the field, so he was back on the road very quickly after a flat tire and was able to gain the decisive advantage. Only François Faber was able to pose a threat to him and won four stages.
