The start and finish of the 21st tour were in Paris , the tour went counter-clockwise. The number of stages has increased compared to previous years, but the individual stages were shorter. The drivers had to cover a total of 5340 km - less than in the previous year , when there were only 17 stages. Race course
On the first stage, Francis Pélissier won and thus took over the overall lead, which he was able to hold for a few stages. On the 11th stage to Luchon , Nicolas Frantz from Luxembourg drove out a few minutes and took over the yellow jersey of the front runner.
