Frans Bonduel (born September 26, 1907 in Baasrode ; † February 25, 1998 there ) was a Belgian cyclist .

Frans Bonduel was active as a professional cyclist for almost 20 years, from 1928 to 1947 . He competed four times in the Tour de France between 1929 and 1934 . In 1930 he won one stage and was seventh overall, in 1932 he won two stages and was sixth.

In the course of his long career, Bonduel was able to achieve further successes. In 1929 he won the Circuit du Midi and the Omloop van België , in 1930 the Tour of Flanders and in 1930 and 1937 Schaal Sels , and in 1931 the Circuit du Morbihan . In 1934 he was third from Paris – Roubaix . In 1938 he won a stage of the International Tour of Germany and came in second overall. In 1939 he decided Paris-Tours for himself. His favorite race was Paris-Brussels , which he won twice - in 1934 and 1939 - three times he was second and once third, which is why he was also called Monsieur Paris-Bruxelles . In 1946 he won a stage from Paris – Nice .

From 1934 to 1994 Bonduel lived in Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde , a neighboring community to his place of birth (both belong to Dendermonde ), until he moved into a retirement home. After the end of his cycling career, he opened a hat shop with his wife. In 2007, on his 100th birthday, a street in his home town of Baasrode was named after Frans Bonduel and an exhibition about him was shown.
