Helmut Seifert
Helmut Seifert (* 1908 ; † March 6, 1939 ) was a German political functionary and SA leader, most recently with the rank of SA brigade leader .
Seifert joined the SA, the NSDAP's street combat organization, in 1925 . His entry into the party itself did not take place until October 1, 1926 ( membership number 47.512). In the SA he reached the rank of Standartenführer in 1933 , the rank of Oberführer in 1936 and on November 9, 1938 the rank of Brigade Leader.
Shortly after the National Socialists came to power in the spring of 1933, Seifert was appointed commissioner for protective custody matters in Dresden. In this capacity he was responsible for the arrests of several hundred people in the Saxon state capital in the early months of Nazi rule.
From October 1933 to October 1934 Seifert was a member of the Dresden city council. In 1938 he was appointed provisional district manager of Schneidemühl . Seifert had a fatal accident in 1939. After his death, the SA standard S 108 "Dresden-Neustadt" was renamed to "Helmut Seifert" after Seifert.
