Helvetistan
As Helvetistan is designated nickname a group of states in 1992 at the instigation of Switzerland was initiated. In addition to this, the IMF Voting Rights Association consists of Azerbaijan , Kyrgyzstan , Poland , Serbia , Montenegro , Tajikistan , Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan . Kazakhstan joined in 2010.
Switzerland wanted to join the Bretton Woods institutions . Since there the votes are distributed in groups and according to the capital of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund , Switzerland had to come up with something in order to be able to gain influence. Large countries buy such a seat in their own name, while others, especially the smaller ones, band together and allow one of the countries that presides over the group to represent them. In the case of Helvetistan, Switzerland, as the founding state, fulfills this task.
