Henke is a German band that was founded in 2009 by Oswald Henke .

history

Bassist Tom Bola at the Nocturnal Culture Night Festival 2014.

After Oswald Henke's predecessor, Goethes Erben , decided to take a long break in 2007, he first founded the band fetisch: Mensch . With this he wrote new songs, but had made the resolution never to publish them as an album, but only to perform them at concerts. With the band Henke, founded in 2009, he also initially planned to forego album releases and only perform live, but only to play older pieces from his predecessor bands Goethes Erben, Erblast and Artwork . Later he decided to change both points and so the first album Seelenfütterung came out in 2011 . The style is a lot rockier and broader than the works of the earlier bands. What has remained, however, is the spoken song typical of Oswald Henke and the New German Death Art .

Goethe's heirs announced their dissolution in July 2012, but reunited in autumn 2013 for the upcoming 25-year band anniversary. In 2013 the second Henke album Maskenball der Nackten was released , since then there have been no further publications, but other concerts have taken place. In 2016, the group finally announced that there would be no more albums and concerts by Henke, but there was no official breakup of the group. Oswald Henke is now active again with Goethe's heirs.
