Artwork is a German music project around Jochen Schoberth , who is also head of the Etage-Music label . In addition to many other musicians, Oswald Henke was also involved in several artwork albums. For some time now the band has also been working under the name "Bella Donna".

Band history

Artwork was founded in 1990 by Jochen Schoberth. The band made a few appearances and took part in a local AIDS aid project with the production of a music compilation. Artwork was then put on hold for two years. After a performance by the Legendary Pink Dots at Club Etage in November 1992, Schoberth reanimated the project in order to provide space for various musical ideas.

In 1996 an album was released with Bella Donna , which was very inspired by the classical music. Following the release, Artwork toured with a purely acoustic line-up.

Until 1998 Oswald Henke was regularly represented at the band's concerts. Guest musicians include Edward Kaspel , Harry Coltello , Dirk Schlömer , Robert Wilcocks and Ralph Heiligtag . Matthias Konrad (bass) and Markus Köstner (drums) formed the rhythm section.

In 2006 II was released as the first album under the name "Bella Donna". In addition to the singers Jan Kunold and Chris Goellnitz, Alexander Kaschte also appears in one piece . In 2007 Bella Donna played at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in front of the undead and ASP .

Since 2014, Bella Donna has had a few live appearances with a new line-up.

style

In the project there are medieval sounds mixed with modern music, rock and classical singing.

A critic once described the band's meditative music as “nerve-healing”.
