Henri Dikongué

Henri Dikongué (* 1967 in Douala , Cameroon ) is a Cameroonian musician .

Life

Henri Dikongué grew up in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon . He learned to play the guitar and sing. He sings his songs in French and Duala . His musical style is makossa . His debut album in 1995 was the album Wa (translated you ), which was marked by comments about the military regime, racism and the difficulties of post-colonial life in Cameroon. His second album C'est la vie (translated as life is ) was released in 1998. The album is dedicated to the Nigerian musician Fela Kuti and the American actor Robert Mitchum and reached top positions in European music charts. His cousin Cathy Renoir played an important role as a singer on several albums.
