The Henrichsteich is a stagnant body of water in the south of the site of the disused Henrichshütte in Hattingen , today a commercial and landscape park. It lies in an old arm of the Ruhr .
In the early summer of 2009, floating islands were installed as breeding facilities for water birds. In 2010 there were complaints that the lake was suffering from a lack of oxygen. In 2015 the local THW had to pump more water.
