Henricus de Etwat de Primislawia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Henricus de Etwat de Primislawia ( Czech Jindřich z Etwatu neboli z Prenzlau ) was the first historically proven rector of Charles University in Prague .

Etwat de Primislawia studied law. The introduction to the office of rector in 1366 took place in St. Vitus Cathedral , although the first preparations were made as early as 1348. However, the position of the rector was first proven in 1356. The election of Etwat de Primislawia is also not clearly proven. Historically proven is the election of Henricus de Nanexen alias de Embeck in 1368. He was presumably elected by electors made up of representatives of the “ nationes ” of the university.
