Henry Jenkins (born June 4, 1958 in Atlanta ) is an American media scholar .

Jenkins is the Chair of Communication, Journalism, Cinematic Arts and Education at the University of Southern California and was Director of the Comparative Media Studies Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and holds the Peter de Florez Professorship in Humanities . He is the author and editor of several books on various aspects of media and popular culture .
