Henry Schröder (ca.1884)

Henry Schröder (born May 31, 1859 in Pillau , † October 24, 1927 ) was a German geologist and paleontologist.

Life

Schröder went to school in Koenigsberg (Prussia) and received his doctorate there in 1882 (Senone chalk debris from the provinces of East and West Prussia). Schröder was at the Prussian Geological State Institute (PGLA) in Berlin from 1883 to 1924 . He was a regional geologist there and from 1920 head of the collections and the library. He rearranged the paleontological collection from a stratigraphic point of view.

In 1882 Henry Schröder became a member of the German Geological Society , in the founding year 1912 a member of the Paleontological Society and a few years later a member of the Geological Association .

In 1897 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .

He published on fossil elephants and rhinos from the Ice Age, on notosaurs and temnospondyls from the Triassic, and marine crocodiles from the Lower Cretaceous and mosasaurs .
