Henry Shefflin (born January 11, 1979 in Kilkenny ) is an Irish hurling player who plays in 2010 for the Ballyhale Shamrocks from Kilkenny in the position of left wing-forward (left winger). An injury forced him to take a break in 2010 and a return to the game is likely.

Career

In 2007 he won the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship as captain of his team . Shefflin is considered to be one of the most outstanding hurling players of all time. In 2004 and 2006 he was the national top scorer during the hurling championship. In 2006 he was named Ireland Sportsman of the Year . Before that, he had been named All Star Hurler Of The Year (2002; 2006) and GPA - Hurler of the Year several times .
