The standard-gauge tank locomotives of the Henschel type Prussia were industrial locomotives of the type C n2t manufactured by the Henschel company in Kassel . There is no reliable information about the number of copies produced.
A preserved locomotive was used by various companies in the GDR and was handed over to the Historisch-Technische Vereinigung Görlitzer Kreisbahn in the early 1990s . She has been with the Association for the Promotion of the Dessau-Wörlitz Museum Railroad since 2002 and is to be processed there again.
history
The Henschel type Prussia series comes from the 1st pre-war program of Henschel locomotives. The procurement period and the number of locomotives produced have not been fully clarified. Data is available from the two locomotives with the serial numbers 19763 and 21211 , and additional locomotives were built for private railways and industrial companies.
The Prussian type locomotives are said to have been widespread on German works railways.
Preserved locomotive
The locomotive with the serial number 19763 was manufactured in 1923. In 1927 the locomotive was sold to a briquette factory in Welzow and ran there until the mid-1970s. In 1976 it was sold to the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe and used with the designation 5 on the former industrial railway in the industrial area (Dresden) . In 1977 the locomotive was exhibited at the vehicle exhibition of the MOROP Congress in Radebeul Ost station . In 1985 it became a service locomotive in the Görlitz repair shop . After the plant was closed, it was taken over by the Historisch-Technische Vereinigung Görlitzer Kreisbahn and has been with the Association for the Promotion of the Dessau-Wörlitz Museum Railway since 2002 .
Dessau-Wörlitz Railway
Locomotives 5 and 6 of the Dessau-Wörlitzer Eisenbahn, manufactured in 1918, with the serial numbers 16655 and 17353 are also assigned to the Prussian type . However, there are deviations in the technical data compared to the special Henschel catalog for construction, light rail, small railroad and industrial locomotives . According to the source, the driving wheel diameter is given as 1,200 mm, the boiler pressure as 14 bar, the heating surface with only 67.4 m² and the grate area with 1.52 m².
After the Second World War they carried the operating numbers 89 6477 and 89 6478 on the Deutsche Reichsbahn . They were based in Dessau until the end of 1950 , later in the Leipzig depot . In 1964 they were shut down and scrapped.
Salzgitter transport company
In 1940 the locomotive with the serial number 25699 was delivered to Salzgitter Verkehrsbetriebe . It has the technical data of the special Henschel catalog for construction, light rail, light rail and industrial locomotives . Compared to the machines from the 1920s, it was modernized in terms of the safety valve or driver's cab.
The locomotive was number 67 at Salzgitter Verkehrsbetriebe . The works railway is said to have had almost identical locomotives with the numbers 68 - 76 with minor deviations that were assigned to the Prussian type ; the locomotives were supplied by Henschel in 1940. The only difference was the coal box behind the driver's cab. The serial numbers of these locomotives are not known. All locomotives at Salzgitter Verkehrsbetriebe were retired and scrapped by the mid-1960s.
construction
A simple plate frame with a sheet metal thickness of 20 mm carries the three-axis engine with Heusinger control and curved loop as well as the cylinders. The control was implemented with flat slide valves until 1923 , with the locomotive for Salzgitter Verkehrsbetriebe with piston slide valves . The frame is provided with a pulling and pushing device at the front and rear . In addition to the compressed air brake, there is a hand brake. These act on all three axes from the front.
The wet steam - boiler carries a vapor and a Sanddom and is equipped with safety valves of the type Pop equipped. The boiler carried a quick- closing blow-down valve as well as valve regulators, a Latowski-type steam flow mechanism and an oil device for evenly lubricating pistons and slides . The water supply was partly housed in the water tank integrated between the frame or in the side box. The filler neck was on the side box. The capacity was 5 m². The coal was stored in the box on the left, which could be removed from the driver's cab. The locomotive was lit electrically with a turbo generator .
