George Hepplewhite († June 21, 1786 in London ) was an English cabinet maker .

Life

Hepplewhite is one of the Big Three ; Together with Thomas Chippendale and Thomas Sheraton , he was a furniture manufacturer that shaped the style of the second half of the 18th century.

The Furniture Hepplewhite were u. a. dainty chairs made of mahogany and corresponded to the Louis XVI. They often have slightly curved lines, based on Chippendale .
