Herbert Steiner Prize

The Herbert Steiner Prize is an award created in 2004 by the Documentation Archive of Austrian Resistance and the International Conference of Labor and Social History (ITH).

The award, named after the communist politician and historian Herbert Steiner , was created to honor people “for scientific work in German or English on the topics of“ Resistance / Persecution / Exile in the Times of Fascism and National Socialism ”and / or“ History of the Labor Movement ” to be distinguished ” . In addition, a Herbert Steiner Acknowledgment Prize will be awarded.

The total payout for both prizes is 10,000 euros and "is primarily intended to enable the revision of scientific manuscripts for publication" .
