Judith Goetz

Judith Goetz (born June 10, 1983 in Vienna ) is an Austrian literary and political scientist , gender researcher, political educator and right-wing extremism expert.

Life

Goetz studied Romance studies , comparative literature and political science at the Universities of Klagenfurt , Vienna and Buenos Aires from 2001 to 2010 . She dedicated her diploma thesis entitled “Books against Forgetting” to Carinthian Slovene literature about resistance and persecution in the context of the Holocaust autobiography .

During her studies, Goetz was a consultant for feminist politics at the Federal Representation of the Austrian Student Union . From 2012 she was a lecturer for the universities of Graz , Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Vienna. In 2016/2017 she was a speaker for political education at the Green Education Workshop . Since 2017 she has been a university assistant at the Chair for Didactics of Political Education at the Center for Teacher Education at the University of Vienna.

Her research interests are feminist theory , gender-reflective perspectives on right-wing extremism , anti-feminism, commemorative politics, commemorative culture and anti-Semitism . So she deals u. a. with girls, anti-feminism among fraternities and the turquoise-blue government , with the gender images and politics of the identities as well as the communication and media strategies of the identities.

Goetz is a member of the Context XXI editorial team and the LICRA (League against Racism and Anti-Semitism). As a member of the research group Ideologies and Policies of Inequality (FIPU), she was involved in the 2014 book Right-Wing Extremism - Volume 1: Developments and Analyzes . In it she sat down - under the title Dancing Out! - critically deal with the protests against the WKR ball in Vienna. Goetz was also involved in the connection volume of 2016 Right-Wing Extremism - Volume 2: Prevention and Civic Education and the third volume of the Research Group Right-Wing Extremism - Volume 3: Gender-Reflected Perspectives , published in 2019 .

In 2004 Goetz ran as the top candidate of the KPÖ in the Carinthian state elections .
