Stefan Eichenberger

Stefan Eichenberger (* 1984 in Aarau ) is a Swiss film director and producer . The he produced short film Parvaneh of talkhon hamzavi was at the Oscar ceremony in 2015 as best short film nominated.

Life

As a teenager he worked on the Swiss youth broadcast VideoGang . In 2006 he founded the film production company hiddenframe together with Gregor Frei and Joel Glatz . From 2006 to 2010 he studied media and communication science , philosophy and sociology at the Universities of Freiburg and Bern . He graduated with “ summa cum laude ”. He then studied film realization from 2010 to 2012 with a focus on film production at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). In 2011/12, his short silent film Salty Times was shown in cinemas across Switzerland as a supporting film for Oscar winner The Artist . The short film Parvaneh , made in 2012 as part of his training at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), won both the Student Academy Award and the First Steps film award and was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Live Action Short Film category in 2015 . Since 2014 he has been co-owner of the Swiss production company CONTRAST FILM , based in Bern and Zurich. In August 2015, the episode film Heimatland , a collective project of ten young Swiss directors , which he produced, celebrated its world premiere in the international competition at the Festival del Film Locarno.

At the end of June 2017, Eichenberger became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
