Talkhon Hamzavi

Talkhon Hamzavi (* 1979 in Tehran , pers . : تلخون حمزوی) is an Iranian - Swiss director. Her short film Parvaneh was nominated for best short film at the 2015 Academy Awards.

Life

Talkhon Hamzavi was born in Tehran and came to Switzerland in 1986, where she still lives today. She has dual citizenship . From 1998 to 2003 she was trained as a medical practice assistant . In 2003 she took a preliminary course for design in Aarau and then studied film design at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). There she obtained a Bachelor's degree in 2010 and a Master of Arts in 2012 .

Her debut film was in 2004 when the veil falls . This was followed in 2007 by The Sweet Cold Breath and in 2009 It is normal to be different . The short film Taub was released in 2010 and Parvaneh in 2012 . The latter is her graduation film, with which she won the Student Academy Award and the First Steps Award .
