Herbert Alward was an Austrian figure skater who started in a single run .

He celebrated his greatest sporting successes in 1938 when he won the bronze medal at both the World Championship and the European Championship behind his compatriot Felix Kaspar and the Briton Graham Sharp . After the annexation of Austria , he started for Hungary in 1939 .
