Herbert Eckstein (politician, 1956)

Herbert Eckstein (born January 7, 1956 in Wendelstein ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Eckstein graduated from high school and studied law. In 1987 he became country manager of the social democratic community for local politics. From 1977 he was district youth leader in the Bavarian state sports association in the Roth / Schwabach district , where he was involved in the district youth ring and active football referee in the state league.

In 1972 Eckstein joined the SPD. In 1978 he was elected to the local council of Wendelstein, where he was parliamentary group chairman from 1984 and second mayor from May 1, 1990. From 1984 he was a district councilor and deputy district chairman. From 1990 until his early resignation on December 31, 1993, he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . Since then, Eckstein has been the district administrator of the Roth district ; he was last re-elected to this position on September 24, 2017 with 96.3% of the votes. In 2014 he was elected the second vice president of the Bavarian District Assembly.
