Herbert Meneweger

Herbert Meneweger (born February 24, 1963 ) is an Austrian extreme endurance cyclist , lecturer and author.

Life

The full-time product manager worked as an amateur cyclist in Austria while studying geology. When he started his professional life, he also devoted himself to extreme endurance cycling (including Race Across America ) and was a participant in the Marathon des Sables (243 km run in the Sahara).

His first book "Race Across America ... and if I move, this is how I get further ..." was published in 1999. In the same year he brought the film "Race Across America. From dream to success ”, and in 2000 the film“ Race Across America. Win without having to win ”. Meneweger's second book “Marathon Des Sables. The limit is where the imagination ends “deals with the desert run in the Sahara of Morocco.

Wheel:

  • 1st place European qualification for Race Across America 1990 (900 km)
  • Race Across America : around 5,000 km in nine days and six hours in 1999
  • Vice-World Champion Ultra-Marathon-Cycling-Ass (UMCA) in Iowa and with this kilometer performance Austrian record holder over 24 hours from 9/2000 to 4/2015: 778 km
  • European record holder 24 hours indoor 775 km (UMCA tested) 4/2000 to 10/2017
  • 3rd place Race across the Alps 2001
  • 1st place Silberreiher-Trophy and with this mileage Austrian record holder over 24 hours drafting *: 946 km, existing since 6/2001 (* drafting: within a race with the possibility of slipstream driving with other participants)
  • 1st place in the Race Around Slovenia class> 50 at record speed, number 5/2013 to 5/2017
  • Record holder TransAustria Süd-Nord Solo Overall (UMCA tested), inventory since 4/2016
  • 2nd place TorTour - Race Around Switzerland 2015 class> 50

Run:

  • 13th place queen stage over 84 km within the Marathon des Sables 2003 (overall after 6 stages 28th place)
  • Graubünden Marathon 2003 (42.195 km with around 2,700 vertical meters)
  • 1st place Lanzarote Marathon 1990 class <30

Triathlon:

  • Ironman Klagenfurt 2002
