Herbert Schillinger

Herbert Schillinger (* 1953 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a member of the management of the largest German pension insurance company ( Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund ) (formerly BfA) from July 1, 2003 to December 6, 2017 .

After attending school for 13 years and then doing military service, Herbert Schillinger studied law in Freiburg and Berlin from 1975 to 1980, which was followed by an eight-semester course in political science in Berlin (until 1984). He spent his three-year legal traineeship (1980–1983) at the Higher Regional Court in Berlin and in 1983 began a two-year work at a Berlin law firm.

From 1985 to 1996 Herbert Schillinger started working for the Federal Insurance Agency for Salaried Employees (BfA) in the insurance and pension benefits department, followed by field service, rehabilitation department and management department. From 1994 to 1996 he was the BfA's deputy construction officer for the new federal states. In 1996 he was appointed head of the field service department at the BfA and in 1999 he took over the management of the rehabilitation department. Since July 1, 2003 Herbert Schillinger was director of the BfA, today the German Federal Pension Insurance. Schillinger's area of ​​responsibility included organization, data processing, central tasks, personnel, education and employer examinations. He retired on December 6th, 2017.
