Herbert Schulte

Herbert Schulte (* 1940 in Osnabrück ) is a German educationalist . He was best known for his contributions to media education.

Life

Herbert Schulte was born in Osnabrück in 1940. After attending school and studying in Hesse and Osnabrück, he was a teacher at primary and secondary schools from 1963 to 1969. From 1969 to 1976 he carried out a second degree in educational science, psychology and sociology and obtained his doctorate in 1976 as a Dr. phil. with Wolfgang Klafki at the University of Marburg. Subsequently, he worked in Münster, initially at the University of Education, then, after the merger, at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. In 1982 he completed his habilitation in educational science and worked as a private lecturer at the Institute for School and Classroom Research in the Educational Science Department of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster.

Services

Herbert Schulte devoted himself primarily to media education in his research. Together with Rudolf Biermann , he most recently led a project on media education in schools funded by the German Research Foundation, which was concluded in 1997 with two research reports.
