In the 2001 election in Zambia , the party won 7.4 percent of the vote and 4 of the 150 seats in the National Assembly . Your candidate for the presidency, Godfrey Miyanda , a former Vice President (1993–97) and Brigadier General in the time of Kenneth Kaunda , won 8.09 percent of the vote. In the 2006 election in Zambia , she failed to make it into parliament and her presidential candidate, Godfrey Miyanda, only won 1.57 percent of the vote.

The Heritage Party is strongly linked to Christianity and religion. It is rooted in UNIP . Its goals and values are strongly influenced by the independence movement and are therefore oriented towards the past. It is hardly to be expected that she will run again in the 2011 elections, because the political power field in Zambia has been completely reorganized.
