Election in Zambia 2001

The election results of December 27, 2001 in Zambia . There were 2,604,761 voters registered. With 1,766,356 votes cast, the turnout in the presidential elections was 67.8 percent. Of these, 28,408 were invalid and 1,737,948 were valid. With 1,785,485 voting slips cast, the turnout in the elections to the National Assembly was 68.5 percent. Of these, 34,133 votes were invalid and 1,751,352 were valid. (The results that are listed under the web links differ slightly from those listed here.)
