Yobert Shamapande

Yobert Shamapande (* 1948 ) is a politician in Zambia .

Yobert Shamapande is chairman of the Zambian National Leadership for Development party , has a doctorate, is married with six children and lives in the USA . He worked for the UNIC information service of the United Nations until the end of 2000 , including in Pretoria . He then was an assistant professor at Columbia University . In 2001 he was reported in the United States that he had paid a domestic worker less than one eighth of the minimum wage.

In the 2006 elections in Zambia , he ran as a very eloquent presidential candidate. But like Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika , he failed because he lacked any political basis. The election result of 0.53 percent only shows how much his international experience is valued for Zambia.
