Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika

Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika (born July 14, 1943 ) is the daughter of Lewanika II. King of Barotseland and works in the diplomatic service of Zambia . She has been the country's ambassador to the United States since 2003 .

Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika received her MA in Education and Psychology from California Polytechnic State University , San Luis Obispo, and a PhD in Childhood and Elementary Education from New York University.

The king's daughter was a lecturer at colleges in Mongu in the field of education from 1965 to 1972 , from 1972 to 1980 professor at the University of Zambia for educational sciences and teacher training, from 1980 to 1990 she worked for UNICEF as a consultant for East and Southern Africa. In the 1991 election in Zambia , she won a seat in the National Assembly of Zambia for the Movement for Multiparty Democracy and ran for the Agenda for Zambia for the 2001 presidency with devastating results. She then moved permanently to the Zambian diplomatic service.
