Parliamentary elections in Zambia 2011
The parliamentary elections in Zambia 2011 took place on September 20, 2011 in the South African state of Zambia at the same time as the presidential elections. For the first time since its founding in 2001, the Patriotic Front won the most votes of all parties, a few percentage points ahead of the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD), which had always been the strongest force in parliament and the president since the democratization of Zambia in 1991. The result of the parliamentary elections thus reflected the result of the presidential election, in which Michael Sata , the candidate of the Patriotic Front, also received the most votes.

The EU observers of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) described the election as "generally carried out in a transparent and credible manner", but complained about the unequal access to different resources of the individual candidates, which is an advantage of the previous ruling party and its candidate was meant by the partial possibility of using state resources.
