Election in Zambia 1996

The election results of November 18, 1996 in Zambia . There were 2,267,382 registered voters. With 1,325,053 votes cast, participation in the election for President of Zambia was 58.4%. Of these, 66,248 were invalid and 1,258,805 were valid. Such figures are not available for the elections to the National Assembly. Why the distribution of seats in the National Assembly does not correspond to the percentage of votes received by the relevant parties remains unclear.
