Forum for Democracy and Development

The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD, German  Forum for Democracy and Development ) is a political party in Zambia that took part in the 2001, 2006 and 2011 elections for the National Assembly .

2001 won 15.3 percent of the vote and 12 of the 159 seats. Your candidate for the presidential election, which took place at the same time, was Christon Tembo , who received 13.2 percent of the vote on the same day.

The FDD appeared in the 2001 and 2006 election campaigns on the subjects of corruption and human rights . Together with the United National Independence Party and the United Party for National Development , it forms the United Democratic Alliance , which together had 65 seats in the National Assembly, while the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy had 79 seats.

Edith Nawakwi was its president from 2005. She replaced the former Lieutenant General of the Zambian Armed Forces , Christon Tembo. Before that she was Secretary General of the FDD in 2001 and Vice President from 2001 to 2005.
