Social Democratic Party (Zambia)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Social Democratic Party is a historic political party in Zambia .

development

The SDP nominally emerged from the fall of the Revolutionary Socialist Party , ideally and personally from the United National Independence Party and was led by Gwendoline Konie , a political companion of Kenneth Kaunda . In the 2001 election in Zambia , Konie was only able to win a presidential candidate 0.59 percent of the vote, and the party won none of the seats in the National Assembly of Zambia . The left ideological spectrum has thus become meaningless as a factor in Zambian politics.
