Herman Ridderbos
Herman Nicolaas Ridderbos (born February 13, 1909 in Oosterend, Southwest Fryslân , † March 8, 2007 in Kampen ) was a Dutch Protestant Reformed theologian . He is considered one of the most important Dutch New Testament scholars of the 20th century .
Life
As the son of pastor and Old Testament writer Jan Ridderbos, he studied at the Theological College in Kampen , where his father also taught, and at the Free University of Amsterdam . After serving as a pastor for eight years, he became professor for the New Testament at the Theological University in Kampen in 1943. In 1975 he retired.
