Hermann Friedrich von Pelden

Hermann Friedrich von Pelden called Clout (* 1555–1560 in Nateln ; † July 26, 1586 in Neuss ) was in July 1586 commander of the garrison of Neuss ( Nuys ), when the city during the Truchsessian War by Alessandro Farnese , Duke of Parma and commanders of the Army of Flanders , was destroyed. Von Pelden died defending the city. According to another account, he was strangled in bed after taking the city and then hung up with a Protestant clergyman.
