Hermann Gutbier
Hermann Gutbier (born February 20, 1842 in Langensalza ; † May 8, 1936 ) was an author on the regional history of Bad Langensalza and the surrounding area.
Career
Until 1896 he was a teacher at what was then the community school, later at the secondary school for girls in Langensalza. In 1899 he was hired by the then mayor Oskar Wiebeck as the city archivist of Bad Langensalza. In this function he was able to contribute and develop his extensive knowledge of regional history. In 1908 he received an appointment as a member of the Academy of Non-Profit Sciences in Erfurt, as a corresponding member of the Erfurt History Association and as honorary correspondent of the Prussian Geological Institute in Berlin. In 1912 he became an honorary citizen of the city of Langensalza. He was a member of numerous associations, including the Mühlhausen History Association.
His tomb is located in the main cemetery in Bad Langensalza .
