Hermann Hinzer

Hermann Hinzer is a former German basketball player .

Life

Hinzer played at club level for ASK Vorwärts Leipzig, with whom he was champion of the German Democratic Republic several times and also competed in the European championship. He was appointed to the GDR national team 37 times. At the elimination tournament for the 1968 Summer Olympics , Hinzer was the best scorer of the German team with an average of 11.4 points per match.

In later years, Hinzer was involved with the university giants Leipzig, among other things as a supervisor for the referees and the visiting teams. He remained connected to basketball even in the old man's age by taking part in senior competitions such as the national best games in the age group over 60.
