Hermann Kasten (politician, 1853)

Hermann Heinrich Kasten (* 1853 ; † 1907 ) was a German educator and Bremen senator .

biography

After studying mathematics and natural sciences, Kasten received his doctorate from the University of Göttingen in 1876 . He became a teacher at the Bremen commercial school and was appointed director of the commercial school by the Senate in December 1892, and professor in 1893. The commercial school was a higher school from 1802 to 1905, then an upper secondary school .
Kasten belonged politically to the liberal Free Association and headed it until 1904 (successor: lawyer Dr. Bernhard Wilckens). He was elected to the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen in September 1904 , where he was a member until 1907. Head teacher Hermann Entholt represented Kasten as director of the commercial school from 1904.
