history
The company Hermann Lother + Co. was founded in the 1930s by Hermann Lother and Walter Mendt in Hamburg. After a few years, Walter Mendt ran the company alone, Hermann Lother left.
With the beginning of the economic upswing, the company grew into a Hamburg trading partner, supplying industrial companies, commercial and private consumers as well as free filling stations with petrol, diesel, heating oil and lubricants. But investments were also made in residential and commercial properties during the reconstruction around the company's own location.
In the 1980s, the petrol station business came to the fore. In the following 20 years the network was expanded to over 50 filling stations. When the sister companies Hermann Lother + Co. and LTG Lüneburg, also founded by Walter Mendt, merged their operational business on January 1, 2005, the petrol station network expanded to around 90 stations.
The company is still family-owned. Walter Mendt's heirs are still the only shareholders in the company today.
