Hermann Ulbrich

Hermann Ulbrich-Sandreuter (* 1903 in Basel ; † November 1980 there ) was a Swiss conductor and church musician .

After training to be a secondary school teacher, Ulbrich founded the singing boys of the Protestant Reformed Church in Basel-Stadt , from which the Basel Boys' Choir emerged . As a member of the Basel Bach Choir , he was supported by its director and organist at the time, Adolf Hamm . Ulbrich was also married to the then well-known singer Helene Sandreuter in the region . He led the choir for 43 years until in 1970 he handed over the leadership to his son, the musician Markus Ulbrich .

Ulbrich died in 1980 at the age of 77.
