Hermann Wagner (zoologist)
Friedrich Hermann Wagner (born February 1, 1953 in Speckbrodi ) is a German biologist and professor at RWTH Aachen University .
Life
Wagner completed his studies at the University of Tübingen in 1980 as a biologist and was awarded a Dr. rer. nat. Doctorate in 1992 followed by his habilitation in animal physiology. Today he is Professor of Zoology and Animal Physiology at RWTH Aachen University and mainly deals with neurobiological topics. In addition, he has been a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina since 2010 . In 2001 Wagner was accepted as a full member of the Academia Europaea . In 2012 he received the German Ornithologist Award. In 2011/2012 he was President of the German Zoological Society and since 2014 he has been a member of the Academy of Sciences and Literature .
