Hermann von Keppel

Hermann von Keppel (* in the 14th century; † in the 15th century) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and canon as well as cathedral scholaster in Münster .

Life

The sources do not provide any information about the genealogical descent of Hermann von Keppel. Active as a pastor in Epe , between 1378 and 1389 he received a cathedral praise from Münster through a papal proposal . In September 1401 he was mentioned in a document as the archdeacon of Osterwick . In 1404, Hermann became a cathedral scholaster. In this function he was head of the cathedral school . Six years later renounced it on his offices and married Margaretha von Merveldt , only daughter of Hermann von Merveldt to Weddern. With the marriage, Hermann acquired the Weddern house. His son Gerhard, Hereditary Marshal of the Dukes of Kleve , built the Marienburg Charterhouse here in 1476 . Another son, Heinrich , was canon and official in Munster.
