Hermann von Weimar-Orlamünde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hermann von Weimar-Orlamünde (13th century), Count of Weimar Orlamünde, of the tribe of Askanier .

He was a son of Count Hermann II and Princess Beatrix of Andechs-Meranien , a daughter of Duke Otto I of Meranien.

Hermann was either the first-born or the last-born son of his parents. When his father died, like all of his siblings, he was a minor . It is extremely difficult to grasp in the historical sources. Little is known about his life. His birth and death years are unknown. Like his brother Otto von Weimar-Orlamünde , he was clerical. In the sources he is not named as "Grafregent". It is possible that he had been appointed directly to church service. Because of his status, he most likely had no offspring.
