Otto von Weimar-Orlamünde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Otto von Weimar-Orlamünde (13th century), Count of Weimar Orlamünde, of the tribe of Askanier was a son of Count Hermann II. And Princess Beatrix of Andechs-Meran , a daughter of the Duke Otto I of Meranien.

When his father died, like all his siblings, he was a minor . It is difficult to grasp in the historical sources. Little is known about his life. Like his brother Hermann von Weimar-Orlamünde , he was also in the clergy. It is certain that from 1265 to 1308 he was canon of Würzburg . It is possible that he died in 1308 with the end of his work as canon. Because of his status, he most likely had no offspring. There are no sources for this.
