Hermogenes (potter)
Hermogenes was an Attic potter. He was in the middle of the 6th century BC. Active in Athens and is one of the minor masters .
Hermogenes mainly made bowls ( kylikes ). For example, the ribbon bowls of Hermogenes are known, which show women's head decorations on the ribbon. The Hermogenic Skyphoi were named after him, skyphoi , which were decorated similarly to ribbon bowls. Hermogenes was an experimental potter. For example, edge bowls with the feet of Siana bowls are known from him as well as from the potter Amasis .
