Hernic

The hernicists were an old Italian people who were related to the Sabines .

They originally sat near Rome , but moved early to the valley of the Trerus ( Sacco ) river . 486 BC The hernics joined the Roman-Latin League.

After Anagnia , the main place of the hernics, and other localities had participated in the second Samnite war, the hernics were in 306 BC. Chr. Made to tax and compulsory service subjects.

241 BC All hernics were given full Roman citizenship.
