The ruins of the manor house of Arensdorf ( Polish : Pałac w Jarnatowie ) are located in the north-western part of Jarnatów in the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland. Historically, the region belonged to the Sternberger Land .

history

The first owner mentioned in a document was a Nysch Zymütz. Around 1500 ownership passed to the Waldow family . After 1715 Rudolf Eberhard von Kalckreuth was the owner. In 1851 the von Gemmingen bought the estate; From 1909 the industrialist Henry Theodore Böttinger was the owner, who had the manor house rebuilt and expanded. His son Waldemar; Another co-owner was the other son Heinz ; further developed the estate and in 1925 also acquired the Herzogswalde estate.

As a result of the Second World War, the region fell to Poland in 1945 and the estate was nationalized. Valuable interior items were subsequently lost. The castle ruins are currently privately owned.

Building

The present mansion was built in the Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century. At the turn of the 19th / 20th In the 19th century the mansion was rebuilt in the neo-renaissance style. The building was extended to the south with an orangery . The mansion consists of two wings with an L-shaped floor plan. Today's appearance goes back to renovations under Henry Theodore von Böttinger according to plans by Ernst Eberhard von Ihne in a style mix of neo-renaissance, neo-baroque, French and Italian influences.

The main wing to the Dorfstrasse is older and its wall substance probably consists of the previous building from the 18th century. In the northeast corner, the building has a round tower with an onion-shaped helmet . In front of the entrance facade there is a three-axis central projectile with a porch and terrace. On both sides of the flight of steps leading to the porch porch, parts of the paws of lion figures have been preserved. On the south side, an orangery connects to the main wing. The side wing on the northwest side was not added until 1916.
