Reign of Klingenfels

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rule of Klingenberg was one of the properties that the Bishop of Freising had acquired in Carniola in present-day Slovenia . In addition to the largest property in Bischoflack (since 973) in the Upper Carniola, other areas were added in the 11th and 12th centuries. In 1265 the Klingenfels Castle (Klevevž) was built, which gave its name to the Freising estate in the Lower Carniola. After a number of disputes and difficulties with his caretakers in the 16th century, “the Freising property in the Windischen Mark” (Lower Carniola) was sold by the Bishop of Freising in 1622.
